Barb& Joe, From the size and bill proportion the bird looks like a winter plumage Willet.If it had white& black wingtips it would be a better indicator.I also saw familiar shorebirds on some undeveloped stretches of beach below Cancun.Turnstones,Yellowlegs and Sanderlings were seen.
